Knowing reddit they just forgot to cancel it and the changes will be implemented in like 3 years.

However i cant stand spez anymore and fuck em. I deleted all of my accounts (Or more gave them to scammers...)

[–] dan@lemm.ee 15 points 1 year ago (2 children)

God reddit is such a clownshow.

[–] QHC@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

This is actually hilarious. They are so incompetent that they can't even be competently bad at their job!

Sidenote: I also love the pettiness of Internet culture sometimes, creating sites to crawl reddit and Twitter but strip out ads. I don't know if these existed before this whole debacle, but I like to imagine they were created out of sheer spite and not privacy concerns or whatever legitimate reason was probably the real motivation.

They cancelled Apollo early.

Bastards

[–] CookieJarObserver@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Hasn't Cristian just thrown the towl and canceled it himself?

Anyway, after the shit spez said i would have sued him, but idk if thats possible in USA/Canada.

[–] minkshaman@lemmy.perthchat.org 8 points 1 year ago (2 children)

That was after Reddit pulled the plug early.

He did a post about it in mastodon

[–] Vaggumon@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Same. Delted 2 accounts with over 100k Karma, and all of the posts, comments, votes, etc.

[–] CookieJarObserver@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

For me it was about 20 Accounts with a total of 3 million karma...

So, y'all might want to double check your old accounts on Reddit, because they are pulling this shit and restoring deleted accounts, with particularly high karma

I deleted the accounts with GDPR help, i don't think they want to disobey that law...

From what I've seen others post. It'll only work for a certain amount of "interactions" and then it'll stop. It's as if the app has a certain amount of "old" API requests saved up for you. Once you run out though you'll get errors.

[–] twistedtxb@sh.itjust.works 18 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I don't know if it's the same, but the developer of Relay got a deal where the app will still work until he figures out the API pricing subscriptions.

All NSFW posts will be blocked on all 3PA starting tomorrow tho.

[–] T156@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I'm surprised that they're only introducing them later, rather than slapping the changes on all at once.

[–] Heldenhirn@feddit.de 11 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Boost also didn't stop working. People speculate that the API changes aren't in effect yet. Don't celebrate to early. I'm pretty sure they will go through with it.

[–] CmdrShepard@lemmy.one 2 points 1 year ago

I don't know if I agree with this as BaconReader quit working right away on the 1st.

[–] z0rnik@feddit.de 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Sync doesnt work anymore. Have to use the workaround.

[–] ThaijsClan@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

I'm glad Lj took the Sync for R***** apps off the app store. The only way I would use R***** is through Sync, and I Do Not want to use R***** any more. He's coming out with a Sync for Lemmy so keep your eyes out. You can sign up for a mailing list to be notified when it does release.

[–] Smorty@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

True. I tapped on I finite for reddit and it too somehow just worked.

[–] TootSweet@latte.isnot.coffee 4 points 1 year ago

What I've been hearing is that Infinite is planning to switch to a paid model and has basically negotiated an extension while they make the code changes necessary to start using the paid API model. But that extension will run out at some point and then to continue using Infinity, you'll have to start paying.

[–] Confuzzeled@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Joey for reddit is also working still. Not sure what's going on, the dev hasn't broken his silence for weeks now so maybe some negotiations going on? Who knows.

[–] MrPlow@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I get that too.
