Those that want swearing and hookers can gather on an instance allowing them. Those that do not can avoid communities that do. Its a win for everyone.

Plus the fediverse is safer with more smaller instances than just a few larger instances. Can't be shutdown so easily.

Fair enough, I guess it employs more mods which is a societal benefit keeping them busy and away from the public. It's not hard to just subscribe to more instances either.
