Mabuhay at maligayang pag-alis sa Lemmy! ✈️

An abandoned community for the Philippines and all things Filipino! 🇵🇭

Started out as a Reddit alternative during the blackout from Jun 12-21, 2023 with over 1k members in just a few days. Fizzled faster than the "I Didn't Do It" kid after a month until it became the internet's Centralia in less than a year.

Just got my DITO sim today was testing out stuff, after downloading their app I noticed it seem to be asking a bit too much permissions. What you guys think? Is the permissions being asked justified?

If you encountered an issue when using the app, you may grant one of its permissions, like e.g. pasaload sa ibang contact, hihingi ng permission to fetch your contacts para madali mong makita.

No. I-disable mo na lang o uninstall mo kung di naman talaga gamit.

As long as it doesn’t actually ask for the permission at the wrong time or context, it’s fine.

Sometimes, apps require permissions for very niche reasons, like getting that SMS verification code in a login.

Now if it’s asking all of these in one go upon starting the app, I’d nuke it off my phone ASAP.

Yeah you got some point there, unfortunately it ask it in one go no explanation or so what for. Super annoying to ignore everytime you open the app. Some apps at least will ask you for what purpose others even ask you only when you use the feature. Yeah probably ligitimate in reason but just lazy coding in general I guess.
