I just picked it up after preordering it and cancelling when it was postponed, I've lived this game since I had it in the game boy advance and I'm looking forward to replaying it soon on the switch. I've never been very good at the game as far as strategy so I'm hoping to dig in deeper this time around
Turn Based Strategy
A place to discuss turn based strategy games. Tactical game discussion also welcome.
I'm happy about the ai changes and sad about the lack of a rebalance. I got stuck in personal stuff which is impeding me from finishing both hard campaigns (almost there tho). Yes, I'm in awbw, but the slow pace makes it difficult to keep at it. I wonder if some casual play would help me get back...
The later campaign levels are big and a little bit tedious. I'd say just take your time with them, don't try to finish them as quickly as earlier, smaller, easier maps.
Oh yeah, one mistake and you're out! Reminds me of how strangely easy Final Front Challenge Campaign has been for me, with that wacky AI. I'll finish everything soon enough I hope.
If you are in a one mistake / out situation, you are building too many advanced weapons (10,000+ priced) and not enough infantry to buffer your line.
Artillery beats Neotanks / Medium tanks, you just need infantry to cover your artillery.
Antiair beats bombers, you just need infantry to buffer the Antiair.
