Which one are you?

Oh nice try government, I won't fingerprint myself in a public comment like some kind of sucker 😏

[–] Invalid@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

So tech paranoid then, got it /s

[–] 418teapot@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Hah, too late. You're already being linguistically fingerprinted by your grammar and word choice. Only option now is to not comment on public forums anymore I guess. 😩

Unless you're behind like seven proxies, you're already fuckered.

has hundreds of private messaging applications that their friends won't use

This hurts

Can relate. Signal is luckily mainstream enough to bring some people in after some convincing.

@Killercat103 @treadful I also do the same. But Siganl devs are kinda weird.

I've wanted to meet FSF member in real life for a long time. No luck so far.

As for Stallman, I find it sad that he has been right about many things. I will not do what he does but I appreciate the fact that someone like him exists and still fights for what he believes in.

Tech Conservative here but don't 100% agree with the icons shown. Everyone has their own needs and reasons to be the way they are and that's ok.

mainly newborn paranoid, yet i have some qualities from tech conservative or tech paranoid

[–] KSPAtlas@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 year ago

I was newborn paranoid at one point, and am starting to shift back to tech conservative

[–] shotgun_crab@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Tech conservative for the most part. I prefer FOSS, but I'm fine with using some propietary software

[–] albert180@feddit.de 2 points 1 year ago

Between Tech Conservative and The newborn paranoid

[–] yamapikariya@lemmyfi.com 2 points 1 year ago

This made me laugh more than it probably should

[–] PillowTalk420@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I guess I'm just a normie with some conservatism in him. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Somewhere between Tech Conservative and FSF Member.

I don't care about Stallman as a person. I care about being able to use the software I like and not get spied on, and the FSF actively works to ensure I can do that, so even if trying to use all FSF-approved software isn't practical now they're still helping to make things better. They are an important counterbalance to the bullshit.

Tech conservative, although I have to admit that I like MacOS a lot. When it comes to Linux, I use and love Debian

[–] jacktherippah@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I'm in the same boat. I feel like going any further than Newborn Paranoid and you start sacrificing so much of your time, money and convenience it's not worth it anymore.

[–] spaceguy@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Definitely tech conservative. I’m aware of all the problems with big tech and closed source software but I’m not going to jump through major hoops to make sure I’m adhering to Stallman’s principles.

[–] Necropill@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

i'm definetly newborn paranoid, but i actually belive opera and opera GX are great browsers nowdays

[–] ralC@lemmy.fmhy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Between conservative and newborn paranoid. I use Fedora and Firefox, but (microg) LineageOS and F-Droid on my phone. Also I don't know what half of those apps are but I'd like to use matrix.

[–] marcos@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

What's the problem with e-books? Even more the ones you download into your computer and open with okular or some emacs e-pub mode?

(Anyway, I don't know what half of those icons are.)

[–] DARbarian@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Newborn Paranoid 100%. I both fear and desire the slippery slope. Also, what's the browser next to LibreWolf?

[–] Armando3996@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

It's qutebrowser, kind of like a more "suckless" fork of chromium. Also got an adblocker built-in, which is basically just a hosts file but for qutebrowser.

[–] MooseBoys@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I spend 95% of my day on Debian but I don’t like it. Definitely β€œTech Normie” according to this guide.

[–] codyofficial@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Honestly, I know it may not feel like it, but any linux usage, or even an understanding of what linux is, pretty much knocks you out of tech normie territory. One of us! One of us!

[–] HRDS_654@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago

I'm a tech normie conservative. Apparently.
