Change it if you want but “Voyager” sounds like some corporate nothing app named by bean pushers and commitees.
wefwef
wefwef is now Voyager! Subscribe to !voyagerapp@lemmy.world.
I prefer Wefwef, especially the dog barking sound. As an alternative I propose Lemlem - which sounds like a dog drinking.
i like wefwef
I like the name, to be honest
Voyager, absolutely.
Lemmynade? 🍋
Wefwef ftw!
.
How about Fluffy for Lemmy
Voyager is nice. If we end up liking and using it a lot, we will give it a silly nickname.
LIF (Lemmy is fun)
I love Voyager!
Reddit is a dumb name. Silly/dumb names work IMO.
Voyager Just sound too generic... Maybe Weffy?
Am I the only one who doesn't know what wefwef stands for?
I believe the Dev said it isn’t an acronym, it’s just where he found his hands placed on his keyboard one day, the WEF keys.
I did ask GPT-4 to make an acronym for it anyways, and got:
W- Web
E- Enhanced
F- Fediverse
W- Webapp
E- Explorer
F- Framework
Maybe look and see whether there are other apps by the name first to avoid collision. Seems likely to be a common name.
Voyager does sound cool, and fits the theme of what you’re going for.
But other people mentioning discoverability has me leaning towards keeping the name wefwef. Or come up with an equally unique name.
Wefwef is a silly name - sent by wefwef
Voyager goes well with the influx of refugees needing a new home
Maybe we should come up with a new names and put them up for votes.
I can say right now that I don’t like Voyager, haha!
wefwef is unique as an identity and the all lowercase styling makes it even more so.
I vote for wefwef and hopes it remains that way!
I don't see anything wrong with wefwef, it just looks like a modern nonsense brand-word and easy to remember too. My wife commented that it reminded her of WOOF from the office
What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.
Another vote for a new name here. Voyager For Lemmy is good, but anything else also works. Recommending "WefWef" out loud to anyone is just silly, especially in other languages.
Voyager sounds good to me.
