A friend has give us some home-brew to try. Today is that day. It occurred to me that of the hundreds of glasses I own, I don't have any beer glasses. I will have to slum it and use high ballers.

I dropped off the sample and paid, hopefully itโ€™s usable.

I feel so awkward around people and going outside these days. The Uber driver small talk script seems to be working ok, but itโ€™s not exactly sparkling. And then thereโ€™s dodging the genuinely cooked neighbours ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

I have made the probably insane decision to patchwork recover the overly cat loved sofa. Done dining chairs before, but this is a whole nother level of mad. Wish me luck!

@CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone

Sorry about the late notice, been hectic today and tiring with the tradies over today and been busy ever since working stuff out.

The other night was a draw so the score is still Ceo - 14, Duenan - 12

We have the Heat and the Sixers tonight at 7:40pm and this time itโ€™s your pick.

I missed the test match today because the power had to be out for a good few hours :(

I really hate most modern architecture. Looks artless and cheap.

Just went with mum to get our rona boosts..

Had to fill out the patient form

"How many days a week do you drink alcohol"... I wrote 'all' and she shook her head.. So I asked her how many nights a week does she not have a G&T, then a pinot then a baileys to top it off... she sheepishly said 'none'. "You're not supposed to admit it!'.

[โ€“] imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone 3 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I was staying with an old (like late 80s) family friend a few years ago and feeling weirdly guilty that I was having a whisky while she was being good and having a hot chocolate....until I told her this and found out she tops it up with baileys every night!

I've tried the Rexona pure rollon deodorant I got on special for a few bucks. It's... okay but I'm not a fan.

It goes on annoyingly wet and takes a while to dry. It smells like cucumbers, very slightly minty and like womens face cream (so not completely unisex), then it changes to generic chemical 'clean' scent. Kind of what gets named 'shower fresh'. Inoffensive, not bad but to me it's quite strongly scented for a while so not entirely comfortable using it.

Performance wise it's okay. It's absolutely not a 72hr deodorant like it claims, and I wouldn't even say 48hr. (I don't think those claims are ever true.) It's not amazing and that's possibly because it's an anti-white mark formula. Those are always less effective. Would I buy it again? Probably not. The sliminess and the strong perfume make me wonder if I'll finish it. (Sensory issues.)

I'm betting the antibacterial mens one will work better. Haven't tried that one yet. However while it smells good it's also quite strongly scented and will probably have that same runny slow to dry liquid that makes it so annoying to get dressed immediately and could stain the pits of your shirts.

I use the rexona one that's like rubbing soap on. I like it because it dries super fast. Tbh I don't stink anyway so it works for me but I don't know how it would hold up if you were a little more pongy in that area.

I use the dove cucumber rollon, but eyeing off the similar zeroco refillable. The only thing that's held it back this long is because they don't have a physical store I can sniff things at, but hubs has said he'll happily take it if I no likey. Want me to report back when I finally get?

G'day! A colleague of mine is getting rid of her late mother's things and needs to get rid of the commode chair and other disability aid/older persons aid type items, but is finding a lot of charities and op shops won't take it. Does anyone know of any place that takes them? They've been cleaned, sanitized etc and she doesn't want to just chuck them away.

Facebook marketplace? I had a wheely adjustable over bed tray table thingy for sale and was inundated with people wanting it.

my "Gaming" rig coughed and spluttered to life last night. it took so long I gasped and shouted with glee "this is it!!". But nope, it came good. Sulked out of the study and the mrs goes "Didnt die?" "Nope" "Better luck next time!" Stupid thing could hurry up and die for me so i can replace it. Might be time to at least get plex off it.

Cheers cherubs ๐Ÿบ

I think this is an ale. The other one was a lager. Both very fucking nice. I feel like I've had about 4 beers already. Whoa it's gonna be a good night.

The past few weeks I've been trialling toilet paper and these are my findings. It may get graphic.

Aldi's Confidence: my least favourite paper. It's rough and I know people think it's the same as Quilton, I can honestly say it is not. It might be made in the same factory but that stuff is like the tracing paper tickets you used to get in public toilets. My ring hole deserves better.

Quilton: Aussie made and aussie owned. That stuff disintegrates the moment it touches your privates. I don't like picking paper out of my pubes.

Sorbent: Good stuff. It's not as soft as it used to be but still better than the last two I mentioned.

Kleenex: Has to be the winner because it does what it should and it comes in double length now.

I wish I could support Quilton but it's just not as good as Kleenex.

Who Gives a Crap bamboo for ethics etc. Their paper one is ok,but can โ€˜pillโ€™ somewhat

[โ€“] dumblederp@aussie.zone 4 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Aldi's confidence is good enough for me, it's almost stopped me going to colesworth entirely. I use it for tissues as well without issue when the hayfever hits.

Interesting. I HATE Kleenex. I can't tell you what it is about it, but it just.... irks me something shocking.

Right, that's it. time for fire. I just got banned from a tech forum for a naughty, naughty forbidden word.

The word?

kill. As in kill-9.

Iโ€™m awake way too early but I guess I need to start resetting my internal clock back for work.

Tradies are over today installing solar panels, ironically on a cloudy and maybe rainy day and they actually arrived early and on time at 7:30am. ๐Ÿ˜ข ๐Ÿ˜ด

Going to also lose power for a few hours too. I pray itโ€™ll happen after the test cricket is done today.

Hot topic of late, tobacco shops!

Another one set alight this time in Point Cook.

Doesnโ€™t seem like this is stopping anytime soon.
