It absolutely boggles my mind why subreddits like antiwork didn't enthusiastically jump at the chance to migrate to a non-corporate controlled platform. Leaving the antiwork platform under the control of a multinational corporation that has already demonstrated that it will censor any speech that doesn't generate profit for its masters seems like it should be a pretty damn good reason to find a different platform.

Maybe this is just my skeptical side, but I think the moderators of those subreddits may be plants, letting the community exist in a neutered fashion and removing anything that could prove dangerous.

Same thoughts, it says a lot about the reddit mods.

I'm posting 3 pics daily and will do for quite some time to kickstart this sub.

Reddit? What’s Reddit? lol I didn’t think I’d find anything to replace that place after being a member for 12 years but I’m quickly finding the communities I subbed to over there and also finding the conversations on here to be better. Ten years from now we’ll look back on this time and remember when Lemmy was small and wonderful. Hopefully it still will be.

So is the weird mod in here that threw such a good light on the subreddit back then?

Oooooh, you mean the one that made an inteview with fox news? No, absolutely not.

[–] Johanno@lemmy.fmhy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

Yes I meant that one XD

Who are you talking about? And this sublemmy has nothing to do with reddit mods btw.
