/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Hating someone off of their race, culture, creed, sexuality, or identity is not remotely acceptable. Mistakes can happen but do your best to respect others.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon' and fuck over our artist friends.

Fun will now commence.

I beg to differ. Cool guys do this to explosions.

I have a rolling tray with this screenshot printed on it. Makes me smile every time I see it.

Okay I absolutely need one like that, how do I make it so?

[–] kellyaster@kbin.social 2 points 8 months ago

There are several Etsy shops that print custom rolling trays, you provide them with the image. I got mine from this one 3 or 4 years ago.

There is a simple explanation reconciling the two thoughts: Picard is absolutely beyond cool.

I really really love this scene. On the one hand, Lorca is just doing the typical bad ass thing as you rightly point out. But on the other hand? Dude can't look at bright light.

So in my head it's just Lorca going "Okay, now I gotta turn and walk away because otherwise I'm gonna bend over and scream in agony. I look cool right? I think I look cool. OH GOD ITS SO BRIGHT EVEN THOUGH ITS BEHIND ME. FUCK. FOCUS ON BURNHAM FOCUS ON BURNHAM FOCUS ON BURNHAM. Alright, now nod like a badass. Alright. Cool. I did it. Where's my ready room as I can no longer fucking see?"

I don't understand this logic, why explode things if you can't watch them explode? What's the point?

[–] gregorum@lemm.ee 10 points 8 months ago

so others can watch you walking away from it, looking totally badass

[–] MajorHavoc@programming.dev 6 points 8 months ago

It explains a lot about his character, I think. Not being able to watch things blow up. That's gotta take a toll on a person. /s

When you just worked hard on that explosion, it's perfectly acceptable to sit back and admire your handiwork.

Uh... I hear.

[–] 1995ToyotaCorolla@lemmy.world 5 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Inside you are two wolves. One wants to watch the explosion, the other is going to get popcorn

And sorry about the transporter accident...

djangoDjango disagrees

[–] limelight79@lemm.ee 5 points 8 months ago

He had to. He was from the mirror universe, where bright things hurt their eyes.

[–] harry_balzac@lemmy.world 4 points 8 months ago

Gotta go prep the next explosion. These things don't just happen on their own.

[–] FartsWithAnAccent@kbin.social 2 points 8 months ago

Explosions are too damn bright anyways.
