A morning shave to start off the weekend. Autumn Ash gets lower, and with some effort, I might kill it in 2024.

I am rather sure that Marduk will not survive 2024, and if I put my mind to it, I could possibly also kill Haslinger's Schafmilch. Other than these, I don't believe that other soaps are finishable, at my current rate of shaving.

Have a good day!

Autumn Ash πŸ‚++;

Killing 3 soaps in 2024 is an ambitious plan, good luck!

Yes, setting myself up for failure πŸ₯Έ

I should set myself up for failure too. A tub kill or two would help πŸ˜…

Baccarat Dupehole

  • Brush: Zenith B21 (XL chrome-plated copper handle, 28 mm knot with 50 mm loft)
  • Razor: Koraat Sparschweinchen (7/8", "Sheffield-style" full hollow, carbon steel)
  • Lather: Stirling Soap Co. Friends to the End
  • Aftershave: Stirling Soap Co. Friends to the End
  • Fragrance: Stirling Soap Co. Friends to the End
  • Talc: Pinaud Clubman Finest Powder

I love the warmth and comfort this Baccarat Rouge dupe conveys. Very nice before a wintery Saturday morning on the playground.

This B21 is my most-used brush, and it's a pleasure to use. It used to feel huge, but the Moar Boar took good care of that misconception.

I came in from walking the dog to see this. Perfect timing! Haven't seen that Sparschweinchen in a while!

[–] djundjila@sub.wetshaving.social 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

It's that Koraat box! Because of the larger box size, the Sparschweinchen sits behind all other straights in my out-of-reach-of-curious-toddlers top shelf and gets used less frequently than other razors. I should just bite the bullet, get rid of that pretty box and stick it in a smaller razor sleeve πŸ˜…

Heresy! What about getting an over-the-top shelf?

That being said, the TI leather sleeve is neat.

[–] djundjila@sub.wetshaving.social 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

As the tallest in the family, all the over-the-top shelf space is arleady my natural habitat in this apartment. The ceilings are 3.80 high, so that's quite a bit of usable real estate :)

I have mixed feelings about that TI sleeve. Since it doesn't actually close and the razor can slide out, it's not something you could just through in a box of razors, unlike razors in these Maggard sleves for instance. So I'm left with something that looks and feels neat, but still needs to go in some sort of secondary container in my box of razors.

I have this one, which seems as functional as the Maggard one:

[–] djundjila@sub.wetshaving.social 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Oh, that's nice!

Mines just a sleeve, with an open end. @gcgallant's le Grelot has the same. I didn't know some TIs come with good pouches like yours. TIL

This might be because it's old - I bought it second hand off eBay, and the engraving shows sign of ware.

Either way, yours seems nice ☺️

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

Nirvana is a subtle but very interesting scent. It is one of those that evolves a bit during the shave. The soap base has its own feel as well. Terrific product. Great shave for a Safety Razor Saturday.

  • Brush: Yaqi 26mm Synthetic
  • Razor: Gillette Super Speed Flare Tip
  • Blade: Treet Platinum [7]
  • Lather: Macduffs - Santa’s Workshop - Soap
  • Post Shave: Macduffs - Santa’s Workshop - Aftershave

Great shave. This soap actually performs very well and smells great. The aftershave smells great too even though it’s alcohol free I’m liking it.

It is very cold up here. I spent minimal time outside today.
