I'm confused by my reputation point count (-36). I've skimmed over my comments and my posts to see how they've done, and there's no way they've gotten more downskids than upnoodles in aggregate. What gives? Is that number not what I think it is?

It's currently very easy to get a negative rating, because people most use arrow buttons to "vote".

Downvote (arrow down) gives you -1 rep
Upvote (up arrow) doesn't affect your rep at all
Boost gives you +1 rep

This is a known issue and it will be corrected at some point when ernest has time to merge pull requests

This is beautiful and adds to the reasons to be here.
Not only a clear explanation of what's going on, but that it's actively being worked on, and corrected soon is mind bottling.

Ah okay, that's helpful to know! I was only sweating it enough to ask about it (which isn't sweating it a lot). :)

Frankly, I kind of like the idea that everyone just ends up with negative points, even if it's not the intent. Stops the sort of karma- and like-farming present on other sites.
