Many communities show "Waiting for approval" upon click the subscribe button twice (first time it does nothing).

While I am technically now already following those communities, they still show as I am not approved on it. Whats going on?

This means your instance knows you're subscribed, but the instance that the community is on, doesn't. It's caused by federation being slow, and the system not yet trying to get that through later.

You have to manually unsub and resub, later, to try and get it through. But as long as the community is federating over to your instance already (someone else is already subbed), your server will deliver the content from it to your feed, regardless.

Actually I also added this to the FAQ.

You could also add one that says if you click a link to a community, and get a 404, thats because no-one yet subscribes to it on Sopuli. And that to fix it, they need find it and sub to it via search.
