A tricky problem to balance, it seems. On the one hand, you don't want those with the deepest pockets to be able to essentially buy elections. On the other hand, money could be the only way for an independent or a new minor party (i.e., not a party like Greens or One Nation, which are already fairly established) to be able to cut through the existing focus. What the Teals did at the last election was good for democracy, but only possible because of the Climate 200 funding.
