Maybe I've just missed the info I'm looking for, but is there an option to have MineClone2 run above 60fps?

Editing for possibly relevant info:
I'm playing using the community-built Minetest Flatpak on EndevourOS xfce, with an Nvidia card running the proprietary driver.

My monitor runs at 60Hz, so vsync being applied through something outside of the game itself could very well be it, after all.

have some discussion on this. Do you have vsync enabled because it could cap framerate. It's probably likely a Minetest engine problem but there could be some debate on how to configure it better.

Vysnc is disabled from within the game, but maybe it gets applied through something else.

My settings are low enough for the framerate to be a constant, locked 60, so I should definitely be able to get more. If the game would recognize that I set a 120fps limit, that is.

There seems to be something that sets a hard limit at 60, no matter what I do. I'll dig a little deeper, see what I can find.

Did you find solucion for this, since you asked it 3 moths ago?
