I don't know where mine is. Pretty sure it's not charged. I only use it when things require a phone number for me for whatever reason.
I'm a millennial.

I don't know where mine is. Pretty sure it's not charged. I only use it when things require a phone number for me for whatever reason.
I'm a millennial.
My phone specifically? Not much.
Now, if we're talking about my PC….
Ditto! Phone, nah, I can go a few hours without touching it, but my laptops or desktops? Nope!
Very. Hard to see how it could be more so.
Might check/read/write messages when I wake up.
If I'm home all day, I don't use the phone much.
While going somewhere I usually listen at music at least, might read/write messages or uncommonly play a game.
Might read/send messages wherever I am, when convenient.
While going somewhere with the bicycle I usually listen at a podcast, call someone or listen at music.
When paying bills or otherwise dealing with moneyz, I use the two way auth on the phone.
In the evening, usually at bed, I do three diaries and then go to sleep.
I take my phone with me when I'm out as I use it to listen to podcasts and that is its only real use.
I have all notifications turned off on my phone, if people need to contact me now they call.
There is no social media on my phone.
While I do have it with me at all times and use it regularly, I am always able to put it down and focus on whatever else is happening. It is used to fill in the boring parts of the day, and sometimes I just don't use it for a day or two even if it is with me.
I do get nervous when it is away from me, but that is because it seems like I am most needed when I can't be reached.
Also gen X and still remember when I missed out on stuff as a kid because I wasn't around a land line.
@Cap i don’t have one
@Somewhereunknown7351 Found the unicorn!
Found the unicorn!
i feel like this is a joke of some kind
@Somewhereunknown7351 I thought you were saying you didn't have a phone when you probably meant you don't have an addiction.
I thought you were saying you didn't have a phone
No i don’t have a phone
I think "integrated" is a better term for my usage than "addicted". My phone is an extension of my digital presence, and although I work from a desktop computer day-to-day, my phone is an integral part of my ability to automate and operate my tools, hardware and software. Besides work stuff, it's also fully integrated into my home life since it's my interface for my home automation as well as my primary means of staying up to date with news and info I need.
But I don't really play phone games, and I don't do social media (other than KBin at the moment, anyway), so I don't find myself using it in an addictive way too often.
Gen Z here. Those algorithms have got me good!
Only things keeping me from using it more are my TV and computer, so I'd say... A lot.
My phone says that my daily average screen time week 49 (last week) was 37 minutes.
YouTube on my computer is the issue. My phone doesn't have anything interesting on it
My phone is where the music is. So i would say i'm very addicted to it.
Not very; it's a flip phone.
I probably use it about an hour a day. Mostly scrolling through lemmy as of late.
I am very reliant on it though. I need to be contactable both in my personal and professional life.
