Except even “communists” always give up on the whole idea, and simply keep the name and the authoritarian aspects. China in its current state is what happens when corporations own the government. It’s post late stage capitalism. They just skipped a bunch of steps. And so-called socialists are applauding, because they have no actual principles beyond being contrarian, edgy, anti westerners.
The lot of them are edgy teens, boring trolls, or corpo state employees.

The problem is government not capitalism
The government represents the interests of the class that holds power in society, and under capitalism that's the capital owning class.
