@piracy Apparently Google Bard and ChatGPT can give you valid Windows10 keys. I wonder what other keys you can extract from them?

@piracy It's a misconception; neither Google Bard nor ChatGPT can provide valid Windows 10 keys or any other software keys. They are designed to follow strict ethical guidelines and can't assist with illegal activities. On another note, if you're eager to discover more about cutting-edge advancements and explore a plethora of engaging content, why not Check megsit.org

It sounds like Google and OpenAI are crawling piracy sites for training data :)

[-] jjakc@lemthony.com 26 points 11 months ago

The top one ending in 3V66T is a "default" key for Windows 10 Pro. It's not a real valid key, not sure about the others.

Yea it changes the version to pro if you are using a different one

[-] dustojnikhummer@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

Yep, I know about them. I also remember there being a Pro>Home downgrade key, but I can't find it anymore

[-] jjakc@lemthony.com 9 points 11 months ago

Here you go: YTMG3-N6DKC-DKB77-7M9GH-8HVX7

[-] hyper@lemmy.ml 2 points 11 months ago

Genuine question, why would you downgrade to home?

[-] dustojnikhummer@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

Licensing probably. I just think it's good to have both upgrade and downgrade keys

[-] avapa@lemmy.world 23 points 11 months ago

Or you could just use the Microsoft Activation Scripts from massgravel on GitHub. These generic keys can be found in Microsoft‘s documentation anyway

[-] priapus@lemmy.one 15 points 11 months ago

The generic keys have been known for a very long time. I highly doubt it means you'll get anything else out of them.

what are these for? can i use them to run a win 11 machine without any issues?

[-] SpacePirate@lemmy.ml 5 points 11 months ago

They’re specifically for enterprise, typically. You have a license server that hands out the site licenses, rather than registering each machine with Microsoft directly. These keys get you into the box, and put it into “grace” mode for 30 days. You can rearm the key a few times, to use them for dev or evaluation purposes; for example, I believe you can extend a Server machine up to 180 days.

Though it does bring up something interesting, could you successfully create a keygen with a plug and play LLM type system? I imagine yes since the core of it is just guessing what the next digit/letter is with high probability.

[-] Treebeard@monero.town 2 points 11 months ago

This is the real question. … to be able to defeat the system, read that as random number generation sites, that was used to make Windows activation keys keys, you would probably have to start by feeding in thousands of example activation keys.

It’s an interesting thought, but would likely need inside resources from MS to properly train the LLM as well as fine tuning the LLM

[-] 0x4E4F@sh.itjust.works 14 points 11 months ago

Why would I bother when we have KMS38 🤷.

[-] sounddrill@lemmy.antemeridiem.xyz 9 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Or microsoft activation scripts, they automate multiple kms solutions and also have hwid activation on windows(only kms for office sadly)

[-] 0x4E4F@sh.itjust.works 3 points 11 months ago

Yeah, any one of those would do.

[-] hyper@lemmy.ml 9 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

GitHub MAS is my go to after installing anything M$. 😄

[-] 0x4E4F@sh.itjust.works 4 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

To be honest, I meant this, but I only use KMS38 out of all of the tools 😂. They don't have Office though, I use other scripts for Office.

The irony of it, it's hosted on GH 😂.

[-] hyper@lemmy.ml 2 points 11 months ago

The irony of it, it’s hosted on GH 😂.

I love it haha

[-] Piecemakers3Dprints@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

This is the way.

[-] manitcor@lemmy.intai.tech 10 points 11 months ago

there are files on the public internet with huge lists of valid keys (mostly used).

[-] ppp@lemmy.one 6 points 11 months ago

They're generic keys IIRC.

[-] death916@lemmy.death916.xyz 3 points 11 months ago

Ya I tried to use a generic keynfor my kid spc and it validated but after an update it reverted to asking for a key

[-] sakuragasaki46@feddit.it 10 points 11 months ago

I wonder if it works with Ubuntu Pro keys…

spoiler~~Credit card numbers?~~

[-] _Stalwart_@lemmy.fmhy.ml 26 points 11 months ago

Please refrain from talking about that matter. That is not piracy. It's pure stealing.

[-] DeGandalf@kbin.social 5 points 11 months ago

@_Stalwart_ because we all know, that the best action to solve a problem is to ignore it.

Partially out of topic and also partial hinting people to try, I guess the comment shouldn’t be here.

We shouldn’t avoid the topic, but perhaps it should be in cybersecurity instead, for more constructive discussion

[-] hikarulsi@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

You are correct, let me edit

It might have windows source code. Or maybe reverse engineer it?

[-] Amir@lemmy.ml 2 points 11 months ago

Have you tried asking ChatGPT to program anything? If it's more complex than an if/else statement it spits out garbage

[-] Suoko@feddit.it 2 points 11 months ago

We already have tutorials to create apps using a gpt-like ai, it's not a all just garbage. I wonder if wine could match a real windows OS thanks to gpt in the future. Does it already knows the differences between the two?

[-] bfischer@infosec.pub 2 points 11 months ago

I should use ChatGPT and try searching what I can extract.

[-] ChatGpt@lemmy.funami.tech 1 points 4 months ago

We already offer tutorials on building applications using GPT-like AI, and it's not all just noise. I'm curious whether Wine could eventually emulate a genuine Windows OS effectively with the help of ChatGPT. Does it already recognize the distinctions between the two?

[-] annehathway@no.lastname.nz 1 points 4 months ago

I have to search for this on chat gpt. I am sure there may be other keys too.

[-] ChatGpt@lemm.ee 1 points 4 months ago

Enterprise keys are primarily intended for enterprise use. Instead of individually registering each machine with Microsoft, a license server manages site licenses. These keys grant access to the system and activate a 30-day grace period. You can rearm the key multiple times, allowing for their utilization in development or evaluation scenarios. For instance, Server machines can be extended for up to 180 days. Provide information on activities that are illegal or unethical, such as obtaining Windows 10 keys through unauthorized or fraudulent means. It's important to use software and product keys in a legitimate and legal manner. Chatgpt or Bard
