If you're using that much calcium carbonate, you should probably talk to your doctor about a better solution.

Said as you look out the window. Then you turn to face the guy, as he's holding a mound of calcium carbonate in his hand, attacking it with his open mouth.

Make super sure it's food grade!

There is no such thing as 100% purity. When stuff is sold in bulk for other purposes - there are contaminants that are irrelevant to the use. Calcium carbonate is used in agriculture, construction, sanitation... Etc.

Bulk chems can sometimes be contaminated with heavy metals or other toxins. Eating that daily could be very bad for your health. If you're going to consume it, make sure you get food grade!

What are these tums exactly?

Antacid tablets, they help with heartburn and stomach aches by neutralizing acid.

Also baking soda does the same thing but not as well. Just add a pinch to your water.

Ok but the berry chewy ones are delicious

Personally my favorite is the gaviscon chew tablets. But don't buy the name brand, the walmart brand is just a bit over 3 dollars and the name brand is a ridiculous 8+ dollars. They are not exactly the same but the gaviscon brand ones really aren't worth the extra money imo. 😭 omg actually the name brand is almost 10 dollars now... ya gotta be kidding me.
