The first images of dozens of men trapped inside a collapsed Himalayan tunnel have emerged, as a complex and frustrating operation to free them enters its tenth day.

Video captured by a camera fed through a pipe by rescuers on the surface shows the men wearing helmets and standing in a large cavern around 60 meters (198 feet) inside the mountain

I'm glad to hear Elon is quickly dedicating his resources to create an escape method for these miners. He could use the good publicity after being jealous of the rescuers and calling them pedophiles in that last regretful debacle.

Wait, he isn't trying to save them? I guess this isn't the type of minor that Elon Musk craves in his life.

Memba when he called that British diver a pedo for rescuing the Thai boys in that cave?

These poor bastards.

10 days would be an eternity. Probably a good thing they're getting some coverage.

Food water and oxygen being sent their way is great and all, but they gotta be bored out of their minds and unable to do anything. Send them down a screen and movie projector or some Nintendo DS' and a bunch of copies of Mario kart or something so they can link play.

Rescuers finally make it to them and they're like "Hold on, just one more game."

Effing BS! I'm in the lead and my reward is nothing but useless bananas every damned box. Ramesh sucks in last place and gets to blue shell me? This game is the opposite of cow!

Word. Opposite of cow indeed.

Hope they make it out okay. Recently had surgery and I’m imagining being stuck in a hot room with 39 other people, my heart goes out to them.

A hot room with 10 days worth of poop.

[–] Oka@lemmy.ml 17 points 11 months ago (2 children)

I'm sure they established a poop corner

[–] anlumo@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago

I’m sure that the smell doesn’t uphold that declaration.

[–] Crackhappy@lemmynsfw.com 2 points 11 months ago

The real question is whether they brought a poop knife.

[–] pcr3@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

Poop bags? Like for dogs

[–] drdabbles@lemmy.world 17 points 11 months ago

The "large scale cracking sound" seems like something to worry about. Yeesh. Hopefully they can find a reliable way to get these guys out of there sooner rather than later.
