American education has also been nerfed to the masses, so critical thinking skills were destroyed. They created a system of useful idiots for control, rather than educating a nation for prosperity. This has been decades in the making.

You pay if your toilet leaks, they can be held to the same standard. They should have noticed their water meter reading crazy numbers and deciding to inform the utility company and investigate their pipes.

Try to remember that everything you have in your life or purchase for daily use is conveniently close to your non-car lifestyle because of hydrocarbon powered transportation networks, which doesn't just eat the cost as a gesture of goodwill, the price of transportation is included in what you purchase.
