Lemmy's algorithm seems to mostly show highly upvoted memes from two or three days ago, without any new comments in the past 24 hours. For example, I did not see c/Suomi's weekend thread despite it being newer and having like 40 comments. Is this normal or have I botched my settings?

There's this Lemmy bug which is breaking the Hot sort. Not sure if it affects anything else. I've also had trouble seeing any new content using any other sort method than New.

Check your post sorting for start.

For me, Active has been showing basically the same posts for days now, and Hot mostly shows posts that are days old, have no comments and just a few votes. Switching from Local to All doesn't change much, they just show a different set of days old posts.

Hot and active on my subscribed timeline give these results. Tbh just randomly tried most of the possible settings and didn't find that thread.

Then I drown in programmingmemes lol

EDIT: seems to be 196 memes today. Either way, this highly favors post from the larger communities.
