MODERATORS
All of that is all gone and cleaned up -- the area is a giant intersection + roundabout. Even the construction on Tôn Đức Thắng is done, we got a new bridge out of it too.
Ten years ago, this area was a bus depot where a lot of the main lines met (now this is moved to Hàm Nghi). There was even a little building where you could wait inside and there was someone you could ask about bus routes. There weren't many cars in those days -- it was almost a different city.
They canceled the subway project?
Oh goodness no. It's mostly built. I'm not sure, but I think they mostly need to add the trains now? It looks pretty solid and runs from D1 pretty far down Xa lộ Hà Nội.
Ah I see. Meanwhile in Hà Nội on the Nhổn - ga HN they already added the trains but still not finished the damn rail yet 😮💨
We'll get there eventually. I was actually born in Montreal where we built what was (at the time in 1967) a super advanced metro system. Some bad design decisions made it an absolute nightmare to maintain nowadays, and very hard to extend.
So hopefully whatever delays we have now will average out as ok in the long run.
