A community featuring uplifting and wholesome news stories that overlook deeply ingrained systemic problems.

The rules:

1. Your post must be an unironic presentation of a wholesome story, but one that overlooks systemic failures that made the story possible in the first place. In other words, we want posts that highlight "Yay, the problem is solved!", but ignore "Wait, why was this a problem in the first place?" at the same time.

2. Re-posts will be removed at mod discretion.

3. Sitewide rules apply. Basically, (a) don't be a dick; (b) use the NSFW tag; (c) no spam; (d) don't attack people; and (e) don't abuse the report button.

checks out. There is a movie called conviction about it.

Also he died 6 months after being released:

But just six months after his release in 2001, Kenny was having dinner with his mother and his brother when he decided to nip home to see if his nephews and nieces wanted them to bring some food home. He took a short cut over a fence, tripped, and fell 15 feet on to concrete. Thirteen days later, with Waters by his side in hospital, he died.

Oof tragic

well at least part of the journey involved his sister turning her own life around too, redeeming herself from a high school dropout to a licensed attorney. So that's cool.

RIP Kenny

Epic story he left in his wake to smack the criminal justice system into getting its shit together.
