Oh, Lemmy is called that because the logo is a lemming ? I thought it was a mouse!
Why was a lemming chosen as the mascot for this federated social media program ?
Actually I have no idea. I chose my username based on that old game lemmings lol
The game was one of the inspirations for the name:

- The furry rodents.
I've got to say, I like the looks of this place so far. Nice, clean interface. I'm just kinda ignoring whatever is happening on That Other Site right now.

I have no idea what I am doing and I'm lost. This seems way more complicated than it should be.
So because Lemmy is federated, individuals can host their own servers and create communities on them.
Obviously you've already joined one and made an account. Now you should be able to see different communities if you try to browse /all.
You can sub to them the same way you could sub to individual subreddits.
