I watched Louis' video. His new project certainly sounds interesting, though I don't know how long it can last considering what he said it would do. I don't think the platforms would just let it be.

I suspect people would pay $20/year for YT with no ads and better functionality (specifically the ability to mute/block particular channels and commenters).

No. YouTube has already removed features from their app and sold it back to us. They can fuck off

These companies dont seem to realize that pushing is just about the worst thing they can do. Tell a child they cant listen to a type of music and they most likely will enjoy it because its forbidden, "sex is dirty and bad" causes teen pregnancy, drugs are bad causes more potent drugs because higher potency fits in smaller space, etc, etc.
