I remember being excited for Blizzard game expansions. They were so full of content

[–] Prok@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Surely they can't make it worse, right? ... Right?

Look on the bright side. Maybe we'll get another honest conference video?

Maybe when it's $20 for the complete Diablo 4 experience it will be worth looking at.

Terrible game, and I regret spending money on it. The Blizzard I knew from the 90s, man that name was synonymous with quality. They were the Rockstar of their day. That company is long dead.

I enjoyed D4. The art and music were top notch. The gameplay was fun, pretty on par with past diablo games, and definitely does get old after a bit.

Agreed. The game was good. The endgame got old quick.

Didn't they also hard nerf a lot of the fun builds almost immediately?

As is tradition.

They were long dead before D4. People need to learn faster

I bought diablo 4 because post release everyone said it was good. They were right up until season 1 patch. It's like Blizzard made a mistake by making a good game and desperately felt they had to fix that mistake.

I’m so happy I waited this time. This is a big ol skip for me, a diehard fan with thousands of hours in D2 and D2R :c

Agreed with what you're saying about blizzard, but I don't regret buying D4. I enjoyed the story and playing through the classes. The thing that's missing is the replayability. The seasons don't do it for me and the gear is too incremental - there's never the "holy shit it finally dropped" moment.

I’m so glad I’ll have a reason to play the game again 18 months after buying and 17 months after running out of fun in the base game!

Let's face it. The days of having to make a decent game to get sales is dead. Now it's churn out games with in game purchases and add-ons to maximize profit.

I love the internet, but it surely is a shit place right now. It's now just a place to make as much revenue as possible. Going back to a 56k modem would be too painful but man the internet was just so cool back then. No ads, just the feeling of something new and everyone was in on it.

There are still great places on the Internet, you just have to seek them out. It's the ones that are spoon-fed to you by the corporations that are soulless, adfilled shitlands.

If it has any players left... :)

[–] DeriHunter@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

Lol no.. I fell for it the last time and bought the vase game, I'm done.. Diablo will never be what it used to be, fuck blizzard never going to buy any of their games

[–] morphballganon@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

That logo in the thumbnail looks like the Monster energy logo

Disagree with the "anyway" thing. Traditionally, Diablo games haven't grown their legs until the expansion/revision; where they became completely different (and better) games. This was true with D2/LoD, and certainly true with D3/RoS.

I reserve hope.

Im just sour because i dont agree with the monetization and the general behind the scenes shit at activision/blizzard. A true ex fanboy here.

[–] mister_newbie@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago

Microsoft could be somewhat less shitty. Let's see.

Hey Blizzard, here's a class for ya:

Playing D2R at the moment and enjoying it easy more than D4.
