It's like allergies... I forget about them, then a few times a year, I get irritated.
Yup. You regret all the time and energy that was invested in series that never will have a satisfying end.
I just envision Mr. Martin as a cherubic genie, that on his deathbed, he pulls a PSSSSYYYYYYYYYYYCH! and drops the motherload.
Still haven't started actually reading ASoIaF, despite being a big fan and having already read tons of snippets from the books (thank AltShiftX for peaking my curiosity). Maybe this summer I will pick up AGOT.
The books are great and the show was great up until a point. One is an unfinished masterpiece, the other started as a masterpiece and ended like a sitcom designed by committee.
Aww, the first is quite unfortunate... The latter though, seems to be a more common fate nowadays...
Have you read any of Joe Abercrombie? I think a lot of people that enjoy ASoIaF do or would really enjoy his work, and heβs actually still releasing books.
Never heard of him, I believe. Will check his books out, thank you for the recommendation!
If you havenβt read it, try Wheel of Time. I canβt recommend it enough. Ignore the disgraceful Amazon show.
