Translation: let's stick AI wherever possible because AI is the new blockchain.

Another way to trick you to paying for a less than useful feature. No thanks.

Most people I know who have any trouble tolerating advertisement use Newpipe. I don't understand how the official Youtube client is even relevant anymore.

[–] evo@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 year ago

It's relevant because you don't know billions of people.

That's cool but can their AI figure out that this song and this song are not "related"?

[–] stifle867@programming.dev 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

lmao wtf is that 🀣

I listen to a weird combination of music. Half my listening is metal and the other half is bluegrass/jam kind of stuff. Google apparently knows very little about either genre, and so it suggests random nonsense under the Related section. I don't listen to Avenged Sevenfold but I could see it recommending it based on some of the prog metal I listen to, but it's obviously not related to Arkansauce.

Interesting. I'm with you on the metal so I was confused what that 2nd song had to do with anything. In which context are they being related? Is it when they suggest songs to add to your playlist? Because I have that issue too!

[–] raptir@lemdro.id 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The Avenged Sevenfold song was shown under the "related" tab when I had the Arkansauce song playing. But it does it with artist/playlist radio and stuff too.

Deer Creek Sharp Shooters is fun because it just doesn't even try. Artist radio for them will play two of their songs and then stop.

It's related because they both start with the letter A obviously

Listen to Behemoth? You'll love Billie Eilish!

Why do we need to shove AI into every single shitty app?

Big tech companies have sunk billions into the latest new fad and now they're inventing as many use cases as possible to justify the expense.
