Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) had a fiery exchange with reporters Friday about the House’s ongoing dilemma, blaming Democratic members for bringing “chaos to Congress.”

After House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) was nominated for the top position on Friday evening, lawmakers went on recess for the weekend without bringing a vote to the House floor.

CNN’s Manu Raju questioned McCarthy on whether acting Speaker Patrick Henry (R-N.C.) should take on more power since the House’s divisiveness has stalled Congress. Deflecting the question, the California Republican shifted blame to the Democrats for the Speakership drama.

“So they’ve really stymied, they brought chaos in … Congress and now they’ve tried to stymie our ability to have continuity of Congress, which I think is a real problem, what the Democrats have done,” McCarthy said.

He wouldn't even give the Democrats what he had already agreed to give them.

Matt Gaetz is the one who brought chaos. The "Freedom Caucus" that wants nothing other than cruelty and authoritarianism. And Kevin McCarthy himself, for letting himself be taken advantage of by them.

If you're a Republican who wants to see an end to chaos, it's trivially easy to vote for Hakeem Jeffries.

And he's the one who agreed to the whole "one person can oust me" thing in the first place.

Not our circus, not our monkeys, Congressman - should've kept your clowns in order.

Conservatives only say that shit because they mistakenly think we take them seriously, and because conservatives think it is fun to lie.

What a freeloader, Mccarthy wants something for doing nothing? He should pull himself up by his bootstraps and stop depending on handouts.

It's similar to the aliens in Mars Attacks! claiming to come in peace.

EDIT: Or, as I think about it more, like some spouse beater excusing their actions. "YOU made me do this!"

Does this moron have any clue how idiotic he sounds?

[–] Unaware7013@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

Yes, but he also knows the base is full of gullible rubes who will unquestioningly eat this slop up.

The Democrats didn't save him because he didn't keep his word, and he wouldn't stop attacking them despite being his only lifeline.

He is an idiot and a liar who has no business being speaker.

Let's be clear about one thing, his own party voted him out.

Kevin calls his Mommy every night and tells her how mean the Dems are

Mother, today I called AOC a communist whore and then she refused to go on a date with me. Tell her she has to!

I like to think that the Democrats voted McCarthy out partially because they knew what a shitstorm it would cause.

Hell, maybe that’s been openly stated, and I just don’t know because I haven’t been following it closely enough.

They never voted for him in the first place, they had no incentive to keep him in. Especially after he went on Sunday talk shows and blamed it all on the dems after going to them to get enough votes to keep the government open.

The guy can blame whoever he wants, but he did it all himself.

If your partner abuses you do not stay in that relationship, run. And if they are running for speaker of the house then definitely don't vote for them!

Your opinion is interesting. I slightly agree with you here. In general, if I don’t agree with something, then I ask https://studyhelper.com/argumentative-essay-samples to help me. It’s easier for me, because to be honest I’m a little lazy in this regard. I don’t know what to do with this, I can’t bring myself to do it.

My favorite thing here is that in the thumbnail it looks like that guy in the background is blowing into a giant iphone.
