This is the best summary I could come up with:

At a polling booth in Balmain today, Anthony Albanese said he hopes the country wakes up tomorrow stronger, with a "burden lifted, having shown respect for the First Australians and the great privilege that we have to share this continent with the oldest continuous culture on earth."

The Australian Electoral Commission said Friday was Australia's biggest single day of pre-polling ever, with just over 1 million votes cast.

More than 9 million people still need to visit a polling booth today to vote Yes or No in response to the proposal to enshrine a Voice to Parliament into the constitution to set up an advisory body that would give advice to the government on First Nations issues.

"It's a very significant change that's proposed to our constitution, and if I thought it was going to provide the practical outcomes in Indigenous communities, then it would be a different story," he said.

The minister said while the work on Indigenous Affairs would continue no matter the result of the referendum, she remained hopeful and focused on its success.

He said he would wait to see how the Australian people voted, adding that the prime minister should "feel blame" if the proposed constitutional change was unsuccessful.
