"We are in an age which, to an extent, embraces feminism, anti-racism and anti-ableism. Perhaps it is also time to include “speciesism” in our discussions about ethics – since valuing some species over others is a form of prejudice."

It drives me nuts that so many people have this deeply ingrained feeling that humans are inherently the best and that we have this special level of consciousness or sentience and this somehow justifies the damage we cause to other lifeforms and the planet.
