What do you mean by "replacement"? Like specifically Baldur's Gate or just any cRPG?

Have a look at GOG's library. Many are older but have been fixed for modern systems, patches and fixes already applied etc. Linux version not uncommon. Best part is that most are without DRM (wink-wink)

Without knowing which games you already have under your belt, it's hard to give a good recommendation. Have you played Mass Effect yet? If you haven't, I'd start with that.
