This comic is part of an ongoing story that might make more sense with full context.

First comic in this story
Previous comic in this story
Next comic in this story

Please be advised that if you use the connect app, it doesn't always correctly parse links to lemmy posts. If they're not working for you, you can follow the whole plotline on my site. (These comics are in reverse chronological order, so start at the end and work backwards.)

Since I know people will ask: Proficiency 4, Wisdom 5, Observant, Sentinel Shield.

Sounds like the party has taken down a few dragons.

At this point in the campaign, one dragon - but we also completed the Dragon Heist module.

At the point in the campaign where the party are now - four dragons.

I have a theory that you can tell how many dragons a party has killed by how quickly they can tell you how much gold fits in a bag of holding.

[–] ahdok@ttrpg.network 5 points 1 year ago

There’s a reason why our party carries two of those.

Well you got me hooked

Wow. Passive perception 29, how does that happen?

[–] ahdok@ttrpg.network 35 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (4 children)

I'm choosing to believe the comedic irony is deliberate here.

Technically the comic should read "Konsi's passive perception is normally 29" - she doesn't have the shield on her here, so it's only 24... but her reputation with the party is one that is commensurate with the 29, that's the level they're used to her operating at.

[–] bradorsomething@ttrpg.network 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah, but how does she have a 29 Perception?

It's a power that comes from misinterpreting too many romantic advances. Part of the anti-bard prestige class.

You're going to have to elaborate on that question.

[–] nootstorm@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's an old Zoolander reference - there's a whole bit where the big conspiracy is explained to the title character, and he repeats the question "why male models?" even though it's just been explained why in excruciating detail.

...I should probably use less obscure references, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

This is a film I should have watched.

[–] nootstorm@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

The first one's good fun, in a rather daft way, I hear the sequel is not so great tho

I missed it too but tbf I'm avoiding looking at the link preview that appears just below the description text to avoid comic spoilers

Is Konsi is actually flirting in the last 2 panels? Are we sure she didn't get swapped with a doppelgänger?

[–] Holzkohlen@feddit.de 6 points 1 year ago

It's 80-20 at this point

[–] ahdok@ttrpg.network 13 points 1 year ago (1 children)

She’s starting to relax about it at this point.

Konsi is normally quite anxious and shy, lacking in confidence - but here she’s had a couple of days to think about this, work it through in her mind, and plan for it.

When Konsi knows what she’s supposed to be doing, when has a plan, she’s often very competent. She struggles with responsibility and decision making, rather than execution.

This was an answer to pjnick, but for some reason it came out as a separate comment
