They're basically the female equivalent of the Proud Boys.
Worse. One of their chapters had a newsletter with a big box at the top with a Hitler quote in it. And then during the meeting about it, there was a moment of silence for Holocaust victims which they artificially coughed through. They're literally Nazis.
So, the female equivalent of the Proud Boys: Now with even less stealth.
I would still call them worse. They get onto school boards. They do stuff legally but sneakily. They're a real fifth column.
Irony is dead in Florida.
It’s all very “1984/Ministry of Truth”
I'll never understand how people can be excited for moves like this. Historically this doesn't end well and is bad news.
That's the thing: they don't think.
The people excited for moves like this know the same history, and they liked what they saw. Like, really, really liked it. They spend their entire lives seeking whatever the polar opposite of Utopia is, and they're doing it harder than anyone seeking Utopia.
It’s dystopia.
slapsforehead Damn, that was some good weed last night.
Please share.

And just think who he will appoint to various positions if he ever becomes president!
Be sure to fight amongst yourselves and bicker why one group is ever so slightly more or ever so slightly less left of center than yourself, and not focus on the fascist in the room.
Remember to stubbornly focus on the small differences between us, and not on the massive threat that the far right is to our democracy.
Be sure to refuse to fall in line behind the party and the individuals who can stop this, and instead use your one precious vote on some 3rd party candidate who has a 0% chance of winning and is only running to act as a spoiler.
if he ever becomes president!
I think he's screwed that pooch at this point.
Yeah, ok. People were saying similar things about Trump too.
"He has no chance"
"He'll never win"
Trump wasn't polling where DeSantis is polling.
If you think literally anything happening right now means anything, then you have a whole lot of learn about American politics. We aren't even at the pre-game yet, let alone the primaries and eventually the general election. There are going to be so many twists and turns till next November, that no one is even going to remember what happens now.
What twists and turns have there been so far? Because all I've seen is Trump dominating the field way beyond anyone else and DeSantis falling behind the others.
The whole point of twist and turns is that we won't know their coming! LOL
You have a lot to learn.
Again- what twists and turns have there been so far?
What part of "we won't know what will happen" don't you quite understand?? Do you think politics (or anything, really) is a straight pre-determined line? If that was the case, then why have primaries or even general elections? Apparently no unexpected things ever happen.
The first twist has been the emergence of Vivek. There will be many more.
That wasn't a twist at all. He did well in the debate because he talks a good game and DeSantis, as expected, sucked because he has specifically one topic, "wokeness," and he's a terrible public speaker. I have no idea why you think that wasn't absolutely predictable.
He was a complete unknown to both Republican voters and the nation at large. It absolutely was an unexpected twist and Google searches on the guy prove that no one cared who he was for the past year and then all of a sudden here comes this fresh face.

Would hate to be a teacher or a parent in florida these days.
Would hate to be ~~a teacher or a parent~~ in florida these days.
We need fundamental rights for children from their parents.
To these types, a child is something you talk about, not with. None of these people blindly screeching "for the kids!" have ever had a meaningful conversation with a child about what they actually want.
They talk “parental rights,” because to them, kids are private property, not small, undeveloped people.
This is both incredibly sad, and entirely accurate.
100%
On ethics.....
"Thanks for the appointment governor! One question though - what's 'ethics? '"
Sarah Palin wasn't available?
Ugh. My kid was in the same school as Tina’s for a few years. Back then she was just some PTA nut job selling Choffy
Of course. What a fucking clown show.
So they're now appointing neonazis? Great look for America
She wouldn't know an ethic if a room full of them basted her in morality.
Think I saw that on PornHub.
Could have just put a clown there. At least we'd have squeaky nose public discourse.
Are the trains running on time yet?
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Ron DeSantis appointed a co-founder of Moms for Liberty, a “parental rights” group that has sought to take over school boards in multiple states, to the Florida Commission on Ethics on Wednesday.
Tina Descovich was named to the nine-member, Tallahassee-based commission, which investigates alleged breaches of public trust by elected and appointed officials, as well as state employees.
The group’s support for school choice and the “fundamental rights of parents” to direct their children’s education has also drawn allies such as the conservative Heritage Foundation.
Moms for Liberty has been labeled an “extremist” organization by the Southern Poverty Law Center for allegedly harassing community members, advancing anti-LGBTQ+ misinformation and fighting to scrub diverse and inclusive material from lesson plans.
Along with Descovich, DeSantis also appointed South Florida attorney Luis Fuste to the commission.
Another vacancy on the ethics commission was created in June, when former member Jim Waldman’s term ended.
The original article contains 337 words, the summary contains 150 words. Saved 55%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!
