Thanks thatβs probably it.
This is probably because yesterday some a**holes started posting some CSAM. Large servers disabled image posting.
Thanks for the heads up, I heard about that but didnβt think it would cause problems this far reaching. I just post about action figures and Lego mostly but completely understand the need here to curtail that issue as quickly as possible.
Maybe you can still upload the image to, say, imgur and get Lemmy to show it
Does this affect existing image posts? A few of my posts are acting weird, when I edit them I can see that the image is there but when I just view the post normally it's like it doesn't exist.
On my end its the same, almost every post ive made in the past 10 days or so will not load the photos.
Glad I'm not the only one. Do the images show up for you're while editing them?
When I go to edit them it appears as if I never even attached a photo now.
Hmm, that's concerning...
Read the previous posts about this, they explain what's going on
Thanks
Almost positive itβs due to the CSAM issues lemmy.world and other instances were having. They might have disabled direct uploads.
This also affects uploads for, say, an icon for a community.
I just got this error--but was able to post the photo if I did so via lemmy.film.
I've had this issue for a few days. If i use the web interface (i normally use liftoff), it gives a json error.
Quick web searching points to a possible image size limit (and poor error handling).
Pretty sure they are just not allowing image uploads right now, nothing to do with image size i'm sure. Would be neat to have it mentioned somewhere though.
