A few Reddit apps did this back in the day and it was very convenient. If there were a link to Reddit posted anywhere, selecting it would open the app instead of the webpage.

(Really hope I’m explaining this correctly. I’m not family with the terminology I’m probably needing here)

Is this going to be a thing, or… could it be a thing?

EDIT: This is for iOS by the way.

In Safari, you can press “open with Voyager” in the Share options

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/opener-open-links-in-apps/id989565871 might be what you’re looking for. It doesn’t currently have Voyager as an option, but you can request new apps to be added directly in-app.

Also, is it possible to open links from Voyager in a normal browser instead of that integrated one?

[–] aeharding@vger.social 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yes, there’s an option for that in settings.

How'd I miss that?? Thank you!

In Android in the App-settings you can configure it to open a whole lot of Lemmy URLs. But Android has also become stupid with opening links in apps in recent years. I use LinkSheet to work around that.

Yeah. I should have made mention that this is for iOS. I’ll make an edit. Thanks for responding though!
