Every American who voted for this and every American who stayed home on voting day deserve everything they’re gonna get

[–] bitchkat@lemmy.world 17 points 15 hours ago

And those of us that voted against it are going to get it worse.

[–] Zero22xx@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago)

My heart goes out to all the good people that are going to suffer too, who have to share a country with people that threw them under the bus and sold them out for cheaper eggs that we all knew weren't going to happen.

Edit: it would be nice if you could repurpose deleted comments when you change your mind about replying, seeing as that 'deleted by creator' now hangs around forever anyway.

This is a power demonstration by Trump. This is a way to show that he is in charge. This is nothing new, every tyrant government wants to the keep their wealthiest citizens in check.

This looks very alike the earliest days of Putin in Russia.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 9 points 14 hours ago

These are also the courtesans paying homage to the new king.

[–] droans@midwest.social 11 points 15 hours ago

Completely agree.

These are some of the richest and most powerful people in the world. And they bent their knee for Trump, some more willingly than others.

It's clearly a warning for the rest: fall in line now or face the consequences.

"The Elite" on the right only used as a dogwhistle, usually means "person with college or university education", and at worst outright means "Jew" (liberally applied, since the far-right likes to take away people's Gentile cards).

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 27 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

It has never been about draining the swamp. It was always about swamping the drain.

Always found it amusing that anyone thought the alligators were actually going to drain the swamp.

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 10 points 14 hours ago

What I wouldn't give to hear about a single Luigi with C4 in there

[–] Lootboblin@lemmy.world 15 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

How many assholes can fit into one photo?

[–] LittleBorat3@lemmy.world 8 points 15 hours ago

That's roughly how many you can get with an explosive, right?

[–] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 5 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago)

where is the asshole mothership aka Elon.

edit: oh wow I think my brain learned to filter Elon as background noise, didnt even notice him.

[–] demizerone@lemmy.world 42 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

We should ask France how to fix this.

[–] synapse1278@lemmy.world 14 points 19 hours ago

France is no longer vibing like it's 1789. Now we have Macron clinging to power like a leech, not letting go, he also loves to make friends with the ultra-wealthy, Bernard Arnault and the like.

[–] very_well_lost@lemmy.world 7 points 22 hours ago

I know an Italian we should ask, too

[–] 21Cabbage@lemmynsfw.com 68 points 1 day ago (1 children)

[–] droans@midwest.social 4 points 15 hours ago

Man, don't you know? The law ain't made to help earthy cats like us. Here on our planet, back in the old days – back in the real old days – it was just every man for himself, scrooblin' and scrat-scrotlin' for the good stuff, the greenest valleys and scrat-scroblin'. And the strongest, meanest men got the best stuff. They got the green valleys and were like "The rest of you, y'all scrats get sand." And that's when they made the laws, you see. Once the strong guys got it how they liked it, they said "This is fair now. This is the law." Once they were winning, they changed the rules up.

[–] Hossenfeffer@feddit.uk 10 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Musk's fly is open and his X is peeking out. The expression on the other 4 faces confirms this.

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 16 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 8 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

Ducksuckgo went a downward spiral (=corkscrew shape).

Dicksuccgo is what we use.

[–] grrgyle 103 points 1 day ago (3 children)

These people represent thousands, maybe millions, of hours of stolen labour.

[–] Eheran@lemmy.world 96 points 1 day ago

Thousands of hours? That would be one person over like 2 decades easy. That would be NOTHING. The scale is so far off you can not even grasp it.

[–] Ioughttamow@fedia.io 63 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] adarza@lemmy.ca 29 points 1 day ago

each one billion dollars would be 20 million hours at (to make the math easy for those in red states) $50 an hour.

Put them all in a bag, hit the bag with a stick. You're always hitting the right one.

[–] AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space 28 points 1 day ago

No, elites are the blue-haired bike courier who lives with a roommate, has no savings and only houseplants as dependents and looks down on Real Americans like you and the people in the picture.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 12 points 1 day ago
