Nice to see more companies taking this kinda concept seriously (altho if concerts weren't obnoxiously loud it wouldn't be necessary :D )

I wonder if some headphone reviewers will be able to measure the FR of these vs competitors like Vibes and Etymonic

I've been using ear plugs for live music both as listener and performer for ages. I consider them essential.

They can even improve listening quality. For years while going to concerts I thought that speakers have problems at venues due to always hearing high pitched noise, usually on guitars. It turns out it was basically sound of my ears screaming that it's to loud. Problem disapeares with ear plugs.

I sometimes take them off during the concert wanting to hear things louder and regret it in an instance :)

Went to a friend's grindcore show a couple years back. Felt weird being the only person with earplugs in the crowd, took them out for half a second, and then immediately regretted it. Don't need my EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE to get any louder.

Is there a price for these yet? Or expected release

$40 on amazon. Already available

Sennheiser SoundProtex Earplugs - Reusable Hearing Protection with 2 Interchangeable Filters - High Fidelity Sound at a Safe Volume Level - Black Grey https://a.co/d/8JmZwU8

Personally I have “loop experience plus” which I also got for $40 and wanted to compare the two. I’ve used them at concerts and love it

Loop Experience Plus Earplugs - High Fidelity Hearing Protection for Musicians, DJs, Festivals, Concerts and Nightlife – 18dB & NRR 7 Noise Reduction Ear Plugs – Extra Accessories Incl - Silver https://a.co/d/eQCjaD6

Did you use the loops with or without the extra blocker ring?

[–] eoddc5@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Depends on the situation.

At concerts, I don’t

When I’m at home and need some extra blocking, I do

I also have the loop quiet which I use more at home though to shut things up.

Small version with 2 different filters ~40€, big version with 4 different filters ~80€. All come without any kind of carry case / pouch. A bit expensive and lacking for that price tbh

Is the tang a functional part of the acoustics or just a place to grab it?

Either way it's hideous.

Had earplugs with these tags like that before. The tags broke the first time I tried to pull the plugs out. Hope Sennheiser does better.

[–] NENathaniel@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

If you mean tag, yea functional to help pull out

[–] AnyColorIWanted@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Could’ve used this before my first child.

[–] iforgotmyinstance@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

No, I mean tang. The part sticking out, slightly tapered, which appears to have no purpose besides a place to grab.

It's ugly.

[–] thrawn@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

That’s a pretty important purpose though. I have Etymotic earplugs that are similar and without the pull tab it would be difficult to remove. These go in deep and don’t have much beyond the ear insert, so you’d have to dig your fingers into your ear and pull it out against the seal.

My Etymotic one actually has significantly more after the flanges than the Sennheiser, so it’s probably even harder with those. I’ll pick up a pair in a couple weeks once I’m back in my country, so if you’re very curious I can try to remember to swing back around here. Reasonably certain it’s important though.

I have been using earasers for years and they are the best but I'm curious about these
