Fediverse vs Disinformation

562 readers
97 users here now

Pointing out, debunking, and spreading awareness about state- and company-sponsored astroturfing on Lemmy and elsewhere. This includes social media manipulation, propaganda, and disinformation campaigns, among others.

Propaganda and disinformation are a big problem on the internet, and the Fediverse is no exception.

What's the difference between misinformation and disinformation? The inadvertent spread of false information is misinformation. Disinformation is the intentional spread of falsehoods.

By equipping yourself with knowledge of current disinformation campaigns by state actors, corporations and their cheerleaders, you will be better able to identify, report and (hopefully) remove content matching known disinformation campaigns.

So, let's think about this for about 5 seconds..

If a woman decides to abort a fetus, the law gets to abort a grown adult?

Fuckall with that, let the women decide for themselves!

[–] dellish@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Abort fetus for health/mental health/rape/incest reasons? MURDER! Abort adult for breaking a law? NOT MURDER!

[–] Reality_Suit@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

Yes, it's all according to Trumplers plan. See, you get it.

I just woke up but, for the idiots who say a fetus is a person, isn't it the same logic as "you killed a man, the law gets to kill you?" Wich is a thing is the US.

Women have already been sentenced to death against their will by just simply axing abortion rights anyway so why is this even on the table of discussion for law?

[–] Bonesince1997@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

They really don't want women having any power.

I really like answering rednecks sigh "even if the fetus was a person, it's not an american"

Often breaks their brains

As I'm sure a bunch of people will point out the contradiction, you should also keep in mind what something like this is actually about. They don't give a shit about the fetus. They just want women to have their kids whether they want to or not. If you are against abortion because you think it's wrong I respect your point of view. Personally I'm pro choice, but we all have our own morals that we subscribe to. But if you are against abortion because you want to control women's bodies you can go fuck yourself. Maybe if we regulated dicks more we wouldn't have so many sexual predators in government.

Just be aware that just because the person you voted for wants the same thing as you, that doesn't mean it's for the right reasons.

I mean, if they are gonna be forcing births, they are also gonna be the same people to force abortions when birthrates go too high. (Or when the race of the child is "undesirable" to the government)

Its not about "life", its about control.

Not matter if its "One Child Policy" or "Abortion Ban" its two sides of the same coin, the government fucking around in people's bussiness that the government have no bussiness in.

Whether or not a pregnancy should be continued should be solely decided by the bearer of the fetus.

an already existing life > a potential life

I don't like seeing a potential life being terminated either, but that's not my decision to make.

shithole country.

[–] Anissem@lemmy.ml 10 points 2 days ago (2 children)

These pro life people are confusing

[–] grue@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

Only if you're naive enough to still think they're arguing in good faith.

[–] zer0squar3d@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 day ago

Because it's Anti-Choice

[–] TheBat@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Oh, I know what you're going to say. "If you kill the mother, the fetus dies, too." But the fetus is going to be aborted anyway, so why not let it go down with the ship?
