What really bums me out about this thinking is that it suggests

  • you stop learning after highschool
  • knowledge needs a broad utility to be taught

That sucks. I'm not saying everyone needs to know everything, just that there are things you know that aren't "useful" that enrich your life.

My highschool had Economics class where we learned about loans, interest, basic accounting, profit and cog considerations in business and yes: even basic tax returns.

This was at a public school in Florida

Surely Economics is still part of the required curriculum
