The French Resistance (French: La Résistance) was a collection of groups that fought the Nazi occupation and the collaborationist Vichy regime in France during the Second World War. Resistance cells were small groups of armed men and women (called the Maquis in rural areas) who conducted guerrilla warfare and published underground newspapers. Is this sort of stuff even possible now with all of the AI, cameras, location tracking, and that sort of stuff?

Yes. You alone aren't tracked. Ditch your phone if you're running. Infrastructure tends to not do great under fascism, and a little sabotage can accelerate that.

When it's now 4x the cost to replace that security camera you keep shooting , they might not bother

Probably not

an interesting book on this topic is Gildea, Robert. (2015). Fighters in the shadows: a new history of the French resistance. Faber & Faber: London, UK

it shows how different people from different walks of life joined "the" resistance (and how pluralistic the resistance and it's people really were). a common theme, though, is that most were active in the pre-political sphere.
