Stories like this makes me glad to be on an open source mobile system. I've not seen adds while being able to subscribe and download YouTube videos though NewPipe and similars since forever.

it's great, works great for me though i recommend adding your own instance to the app
Been using it since June. It was slow and crashed at times, but it has gotten much better now.
