Across India, experiments to forge the 'Hindu national community' are predicated on the breakage of minoritised Muslims and Christians, and Adivasis and Dalits. What's happening in Manipur is part of a plan operationalised by the Hindu Right decades ago.

Adivasis (Adi = first, vasis = settlers) = India's indigeneous tribals
Dalits = oppressed castes, victims of the systemic discrimination and persecution in India's caste hierarchy.

Many people know Dalits by the name “untouchables” but Dalits is the preferred nomenclature.

Untouchability used to be practised systemically against Dalits, and is unfortunately making a comeback. If the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act were implemented in spirit and in letter by the police and the justice system, the dehumanising practise would stamp out.

That’s quite disturbing. India is heading for some major violence and genocide with the government egging it on.

It'll definitely worsen. Parliamentary elections are due soon, so are 4 state elections. In the Hindu supremacist Modi govt's rule, elections in India mean communal violence enabled by the state in which minorities will be targeted and post-violence the homes and shops of minorities will be bulldozed. This violence will polarize voters into communal lines, and solidify the Hindu majoratarian votebank.

The latest violence in Nuh, Haryana which led to arrest and FIRs against Muslim youths and demolition by bulldozer of mostly Muslim's homes and shops even though the violence was engineered by the violent Hindu supremacist VHP and Bajrang Dal, is a trailer to the rotten movie that'll play out.

What is wierd is even though Modi and his govt have been virulently anti-Muslim, he is welcomed and gifted honours by heads of Islamic countries. Where is the Ummah?
