Just a week ago we found out that they were scamming people by not allowing withdrawals while allowing trading (AKA paper Monero).

Never heard about this exchange, but there is one more point to launch some independent exchanges and use instant crypto exchanges, like Exolix, Swapspace and other

Launching exchanges is quite hard and expensive process. I doubt that Monero community has such resources

[–] HardenedSteel@monero.town 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yes the Monero community has resources and built Haveno.

[–] key_brolin@monero.town 1 points 2 days ago

Yeah, but I was talking about full-fledged version. And Haveno has some problems with launching, I use instant crypto exchanges now

[–] shortwavesurfer@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah, and it literally did not hurt us at all Because apparently this exchange is super fucking tiny or something

[–] key_brolin@monero.town 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

But it's the sign of a regulatory's direction. Monero has less and less ways to be traded

[–] shortwavesurfer@lemmy.zip 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

We knew this would happen and Haveno is the answer. Plus XMRBazaar exists and there is no way they can say its a currency exchange. Its much more like Amazon/Ebay but only accepting Monero. We as a community are not terribly concerned. Plus, the more centralized exchanges take us off. The less price games they are able to play.

Maybe, but volumes of using Monero become lower, so less people get info about it. Instant crypto exchanges are not calculated on aggregators, so they don't play any role. Wanna see Monero back in top-10(15) 😜

I would rather see us with a legitimate price and be number 35 than to have these price manipulation games being played all the time with centralized exchanges and be it top 10 or 15 because when people need it they will find it.
