one would think Russia is stretched too thin to work in Africa as well?

Yeah, Russia’s spreading itself thin. With their focus on Ukraine, it’s wild they’re still trying to keep control in Africa, especially as the locals seem more hostile toward them now. Plus, their heavy-handed approach is clearly backfiring. You’d think they’d learn after all the civilian deaths just fuel more resentment.
