This service is free via the EPA - apply through GardenSafe in Victoria and VegeSafe for the rest of Australia). The only cost is postage. You may choose to donate but it’s not compulsory.

Did mine last year. Took a little while to get results back, but it was really nice to see everything was OK in the yard and veggie patch. My garden has had lots of treated pine timberwork for decades (some CCA treatment type).

Did mine a couple of years ago after reading an article about the potential for lead in soils in residential areas.

Thankfully my yard is fine, only the drip line of the house shows elevated lead (probably was originally painted with lead paint). So we just won't put food plants in the beds next to the house.
