Looks absolutely tantalizing. Yum!

Ugh! Coriander, I'd rather have dog!

Actually, it looks delicious

This is the obvious response to the terrorism-inducing Republican meme. A recipe with a mount-watering picture in response to every regurgitation of that reprehensible lie would have been awesome. A bit late for that now, I think it's dying down ...

Looks amazing, ive personally never tried Haitian food though (my area is Dominican).

im sure we could ask RFK about whether or not they eat dogs, he seems to have experience in this field.

He had to literally deny eating a dog. And yet he doesn't seem to mind this racist bullshit.

To be fair though, I don't know that I would be able to tell the difference between cooked cat/dog and chicken, beef, or pork, so this may very well be a pet feast for all I know (/s the whole thing is obviously BS).

However, I do remember growing up near a family that was from somewhere in the Carribean area, I feel like it was Haitians, but this was 30+ years ago so no actual idea, and I distinctly remember that they had a giant tortoise at their house that they were keeping to kill for food. I remember they even cut its head off while I was there and it was still biting onto a stick they put in its mouth. I don't know what the meal was that they made from it and I never actually tasted it.

I want someone to get Vance to show us Hatia on a map.

Folks, repeating and riffing on horrifying racist lies is still racism, even when you do it "ironically". This goes for OP's title, too. Do better.

You must hate the comedy of Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock...

[–] xantoxis@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Are you Haitian? Those people are black. The fact that you don't understand why this is different tells me everything.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Yes, so are the comedians I mentioned. And they used racist words in their comedy.

Please see the names of Richard Pryor's albums: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Pryor#Albums
