Night Gibbsy 😺

I don't think I've seen a more blatant example of main character syndrome than seeing real estate agents putting themselves into videos showing the house they're selling.

And I don't mean talking about the house. They're in the video sitting on the couch or opening the door to enter with all this dramatic music playing, or staring out from the balcony all reflective and stuff.

Good lord.

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

They also wear shitty suits.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Their tailors hate them too

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 6 points 2 days ago

Tailors? You mean Tarocash and Peter Jacksons salespeople.

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 5 points 2 days ago (2 children)

They know they add no actual value to the house, so they need validate themselves by adding perceived value.

So there's three people in my team. The good one is leaving. Which leaves the one who is honestly like dealing with a child.

Ah well.

My performance review went great though!

Tonight's mood booster is some peri peri mock-chicken strips bought on a whim yesterday. I shall throw a zucchini in there for helth, and half an onion, and.. idk. Eat it with rice... cooked in broth! With cloves and cardamom! (I highly recommend the latter for really elevating even the simplest rice dish.)

Also just remembered I stress-bought frozen dumplings last night. I'm set for lunch tomorrow, woohoo!

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 5 points 2 days ago (2 children)

cardamom

Any time people go heavy on cardamom I is always a fan.

[–] just_kitten@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago

I use it in pasta dishes too. so good.

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago

And don’t throw out the pods, so much flavour in those too.

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 11 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Since all the cool kids are flexing their clivias..

[–] just_kitten@aussie.zone 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Doxxing capacity maximised... πŸ‘€ beautiful part of Melbourne to be in though that's for sure.

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Now I'm getting images of a masked bandit digging up my clivias at 3am.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

don't laugh, garden theft happens all the time around Carlton

[–] TheWitchofThornbury@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago (2 children)

A woman I used to work with lived in Kew in a very nice street with a lot of very nice neighbours - included politicians and captains of industry. Her agapanthus bed kept getting raided by plant pirates. She tucked a placard at the back of the bed saying Smile! You're On Candid Camera! Raids stopped. I mean, who nicks agapanthus?

I don’t know what dinner is going to be, but it will be hearty and full of veggies. That description fits almost everything in my freezer

GP check up and blood test results said plenty of sunshine, a nice fat piece of steak, and steroid cream

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I do bloods every 6 months, and the August one always show I'm low in Vitamin D....which is probably 90% of Melbourne I assume

[–] bacon@aussie.zone 6 points 2 days ago

my ferritin is 20 and my vitamin D is 28 πŸ§›πŸ»

I pooped by Aldi to grab a loaf of bread and saw this.

Not an egg in sight. Is it really that bad right now?

[–] LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I wouldn't have eggs-pected that.

Haven't had the heart to tell my supervisor at this job that I'm seriously mentally struggling atm. I'm off for a week from Friday night so I feel like I should see how I go with that before I go any further. I think I'm going to have to leave one of my jobs and cut down my overall hours to make this work, but it's really bad timing in terms of workload...

[–] Alamutjones@aussie.zone 7 points 2 days ago

Home sweet home. I’m going to throw some laundry on and crack a bag of Doritos

[–] useless_modern_god@aussie.zone 7 points 2 days ago (5 children)

some flower pics, it's early spring and most flowers are small but they are nice and bring colour and a promise of warm weather and sun to come πŸ™‚

Grave of the Fireflies is on Netflix.

I don’t know if I can face complete emotional destruction on a Tuesday night

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago

Yeah, save that for a non-work-tomorrow day so you can ugly cry

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago

Probably having my final assessment for my new role today, to see if they'll set me loose on the general public. Has been three weeks training so far. I am exhausted. I've been up since 2.30 tossing and turning stressing about it, picturing scenarios in my head etc. I'll get other chances if I don't pass but would be nice to rip the band aid off

'puter rebuild complete and I didn't break anything and it turns on. Which brings us to the rave. Upon turning it on I honestly thought I'd be watching everything burn right in front of me

[–] danwritesbooks@aussie.zone 6 points 2 days ago

One more assignment to do and that's another 2 units down. I wanted to get it done this week but I have to wait for the results of my previous assignment which release on Monday to do it because I need to use the feedback I received.

It gives me one week to get it done. It's only 800 words but I like having assignments done with time to spare...just in case so one week is giving me the twitches.

[–] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 6 points 2 days ago

I’m too tired to do art or tinker with electronics. πŸ˜” Maybe I’ll just chuck some laundry on

[–] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 8 points 2 days ago

Spent a few hours last night on the couch in cosy pyjamas, under a soft blanket, ignoring the world and watching a new (to me) K Drama. Followed by one of the most solid sleeps I’ve had in a long, long time. Not feeling any better about being at work today, but at least it was a nice evening.

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 5 points 2 days ago

Phew, made it home before the porch pirates struck! They’d have been disappointed as it’s all cake decorating stuff, but I need neither the headache nor duplicate expense. Fuck I hope this party goes to plan.

[–] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 7 points 2 days ago

I dragged myself into an Uber to the vet because they had stock… felt like I was gonna puke but bebe has her Fortiflora! She’s slurping it up right now.

Benefit of a person with COVID at home is that I have been told to WFH all week.

Oh no......anyway
