I have an old hp pavilion dv6 and I installed windows 7. Then i tried installing Ubuntu 24.04 and the USB wouldn't boot, it just showed "GRUB" in the top left of the screen. I tried with another USB and the same issue emerged.

A. I would try another method, like Ventoy [for Windows/Linux] Rufus [Win], dd [Unix], (Balena) Etcher [Unix], or (Gnome) Disks [Linux]

B. For the case you didn't know I'll mention it's probably not a good idea to connect Windows 7 (<3) to the internet; but, if you knew, you probably know what's you're doing.

Maybe try a different program. It might not use the right partitioning or boot scheme.

Maybe try Rufus and make sure you use MBR for compatibility?
