Just finished the Endwalker MSQ. (Not including patch content)

Congratulations! Now I know Dawntrail is the current expansion, not Endwalker, but I know there's people here in the group that haven't gotten that far yet so I'll be somewhat vague with this question, but how satisfying was that final fight?
But seriously, well done! The EW patch content is a largely self contained story (I don't think that counts as a spoiler), and Dawntrail is the beginning of a new story arc, so you can now say you've completed the first decade long story arc in FFXIV. It's the Marvel equivalent of having just watched Endgame after having gone through everything leading up to it ๐
Now, you have a very important question coming up soon. Are you going to play through Dawntrail on Viper or Pictomancer, or stick with what you already know?
I found it quite satisfying! I was curious how that part of the plot was going to play out while the the bit with the other antagonist was wrapping up. I think they did a great job delivering the sense of two combatants pushing themselves to and beyond their limits (I feel like by the time someone is at a point where they know who I'm referring to, they'll know something like that is going to happen so doesn't feel like a spoiler). And it was a fun fight besides.
I'm curious to see what they do in Dawntrail. There was definitely a strong sense of them trying to wrap everything up.
I'm not planning on running any of the new jobs through that expansion, no. I'm running PLD and SCH right now and splitting that quest xp. And enjoying both so I'll stick with that for the time being!
Edit: Decided something I put in might be a bit of a spoiler. Changed to "other antagonist".
One bit of advice on levelling up with MSQ XP in Dawntrail, my experience this time around was they've balanced it for one job more than two jobs. I levelled Scholar and Warrior through Dawntrail, and I think I put virtually all of my MSQ XP into Warrior, but did the dungeons on Scholar. Was also doing my daily roulettes on Scholar as I was going through everything too.
I found using that strategy, I didn't quite have enough XP on Warrior to always hit the next level in time. If I'd levelled one job only I probably would have hit the cap a little early, but there wasn't enough XP to get two there like there was in Endwalker.
So if you plan to level both during MSQ, make sure you're also doing roulettes to supplement your XP.
That's good to know, thanks! Your approach sounds pretty good. I think I'll give that a go when I get there.
I finally got back to working on my Splendorous Tools over the weekend. Anything below the expert recipes can be done with Trained Eye now so you can insta HQ them. Found a macro to tier 3 HQ the fifth stage and another one to tier 2 HQ the final stage, so have now completed six of the eight tools. Just have culinarian and alchemist left (and my gatherers).
Also finally got to crafting my i710 sets for my level 100 jobs! So it's not just my Scholar that's geared up now, my other jobs are too (by geared up I don't mean for Savage ๐ Just at a reasonable level for everyday play).
Got my final zodiac weapon books done! :D Now just gotta meld all the materia and light farm for the DPS ones and I can move onto the HW relics.
Well done! The book stage is the worst on those relics. Melding the materia is easy, just potentially costly if you don't have a lot stored up, and light farming is pretty mindless if you just grind Aurum Vale or something similar. You're in the home stretch now ๐๐ป๐
I unlocked HoH finally. Finally made it to Stormblood and had to go back to PotD and clear floor 50 to unlock. Ended up in a party of 4 DPSs, but we got it done!
Awesome! I really need to do more on Deep Dungeons. I think I've cleared level 100 on PotD (cause it was one of the moogle tomestone challenges earlier this year), but while I've unlocked HoH and Eureka I don't think I've set foot in either of them.
That seems to be pretty common. Lol. Iโm trying not to spend too much time there as Iโm trying to plow through to Shadowbringers, but a guy needs a break sometimes, yanno?
Completely get it! Just don't get too stuck in the rabbit hole that is trying to do it solo ๐ I know it's possible but it can eat away a lot of free time if it's something you decide to go for! (Or are just somewhat antisocial and trying it cause you don't need to find other people to do it with).
I started leveling my crafters/gatherers again. Got 3 up to 100, did a lot of the Wachumeqimeqi quests (and completed all of their crafts I could do in advance). Now weekly reset has given me more custom deliveries, so I should hopefully be able to wrap up the rest this week.
Nice. It always feels good having all of those levelled up. Not only because you can repair and meld your own gear, but just being able to craft anything you want is so satisfying.
I've been slacking on my Wachumeqimeqi quests so far. Really need to get onto that at some point ๐
I finally cleared m1s with party finder so that ended up taking two full days of attempts.
Well done! I know it can vary from DC to DC but a PF clear is still an impressive effort! I'm scared to ask the next question... did you manage to get any gear from it?
Unfortunately no. I was shocked I only got one book also, because I didn't know how the loot worked. Maybe reclears will be easier I hope.
Theoretically they should be as more people get more familiar with the fights and people start getting better gear from the drops!
The gear system in this game, while it does make sense once you've gotten your head around it, does have a bit of a learning curve when you're first starting out! I remember the first time I did Aglaia and didn't know about weekly limits and just started rolling on everything like I normally would in an older dungeon (gotta keep those company seals flowing!), only to discover that after getting a piece of gear for a job I very much did not play that I couldn't roll on anything else ๐ญ
@Drusenija Been trying to take it more easy this week, but with the static we managed to get our first M4S clear on our 2nd out of 3 raid nights, so we had the 3rd night off, which was a welcome bonus time to recuperate :)
Nice, well done! Always satisfying when you get through the last stage of a raid tier ๐ And the music has been top tier for this series as well (well except for M3; it's not horrible but the other three are just so good!) Enjoy your well earned rest!
